Meanderings on Existence, Relativity and Performativity
Some philosopical ramblings, written one late night in an eerie bar.
The pools of darkness eventually leak life itself.
In Hinduism, the universe is predated by Bhairava who is beyond the senses and the mind, beyond all the categories of these instruments.
Did life begin in language?
How is it that atomic particles formulate their own places in the world and the places of each other? How is it that proto-proteins can evolve and self-replicate to become advanced species dominating the function of an entire planet? Was there a language, ordering the materials into these recursive and structured bodies of information?
Is causality a whim?
Things have causes and in turn can cause other things. But from one observer to another, a chain of causation may not have begun. As Hume said, the principle of causality cannot be observed in a sequence of events.
Autonomous masks
Our archetypes are autonomous, as we project them unto reality. Our own masks are all that we really are because our masks have roles of their own, They are our avatars, in the numerous plays across billions of stages. Our masks don masks and readily imitate or propagate the masks of others. One man’s identity is another man’s mask.
Yet true relevation is possible. You can grow to know ‘yourself’. You can project a version of yourself so authentic that it becomes real. You can strip off masks and go backstage to your rawest emotional state and face the immutable truths. But in the end, the world you occupy and the other plays within it are presented only as a bundle of impressions filtered through prejudice and mood. It is a tattered mask, whom you must perform for until the curtain closes.
